TEXTBOOK: Basic Abstract Algebra (2nd edition or newer) by P. B. Bhattacharya, S. K. Jain and S. R. Nagpaul, Cambridge University Press. The lectures will be (mainly) based on this textbook.
ALTERNATIVE TEXTBOOK: A First Course in Abstract Algebra with Applications (3rd edition or newer) by J. J. Rotman, Pearson Prentice Hall.

Exams

There are two midterm exams and a final exam, all held at 313 Aderhold Learning Center (ALC).

First Exam: 02/20/2025 (Thur.), in-class, 5:30–6:45pm, closed book/notes.
Second Exam: 04/03/2025 (Thur.), in-class, 5:30–6:45pm, closed book/notes.
Final Exam: 05/06/2025 (Tue.), face-2-face, 4:15–6:45pm, closed book/notes. The final exam is cumulative with a slight emphasis on the materials covered after the second midterm exam. Location: 313 Aderhold Learning Center (ALC).
