(6th edition) by David C. Lay et al., Pearson Publishing.
We will cover (parts of) Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Topics
In Math 2641, we study basic concepts in linear algebra, such as theory and applications
of matrix algebra and linear transformations.
Topics include linear equations, matrix algebra, determinants, vector spaces, subspaces,
bases, linear transformations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, etc.
Homework and quizzes (both done on Pearson's website, accessible via iCollege),
and exams (submitted to iCollege, with all pages in one single file per submission)
Homework and quizzes are assigned on Pearson's website, which can be accessed via iCollege.
Each homework set and quiz should be completed by the due day.
Late homework submissions will result in 20% penalty, if submitted by Monday, 12/08/2025.
No late completion for quizzes.
Exams (aka tests) are administered online via Webex, in real time, proctered by the instructor.
Your performance in homework sets, quizzed, and exams will affect your letter grades by the end of
the semester.
Exams
There are two midterm exams and a final exam, all held online via WebEx.
All exams are electronically submitted to iCollege, with all pages in one single file per submission

First Exam: 09/24/2025 (Wed.), in-class (2:00–3:15pm), online via WebEx.

Second Exam: 10/22/2025 (Wed.), in-class (2:00–3:15pm), online via WebEx.

Third Exam: 11/17/2025 (Mon.), in-class (2:00–3:15pm), online via WebEx.

Final Exam: 12/10/2025 (Wed.), 1:30–4:00pm, online via WebEx.
The final exam is cumulative.
