Workshop on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

May 4 - 6, 2012



The workshop is supported by the GSU Research Foundation, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the GSU.




Biostatistics and Bioinformatics have been playing key and important roles in statistics and other scientific research fields in recent years. The goal of this workshop is to stimulate research and to foster the interaction of researchers in Biostatistics & Bioinformatics research areas. The workshop will provide the opportunity for faculty and graduate students to meet the top researchers, identify important directions for future research, facilitate research collaboration between Georgia State University and

The conference registration day is on the 7th Floor, College of Education Building, Department of Mathematics and Statistics,GSU, 30 Pryor Street, Atlanta, GA 30303 on
May 4. All workshop sessions meet in the 150, College of Education Building. The talks are scheduled on May 5-6. The workshop will end at the noon on May 6. Poster

Lodging: We have reserved rooms at Residence Inn Atlanta Downtown: 134 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303, phone: 404-522-0950. This hotel is within short walking distance to the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the MARTA station. The deadline of the special price ($99 per night) for the Workshop on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics is April 30.

If you drive a car to Atlanta. You may park at the back of the college of education building, 30 Pryor Street, Atlanta, GA 30303. It is a big parking lot. Please prepare coins for meters in case!

A few restaurants for lunch are close to Underground and GSU's Rialto Center for the Arts: 80 Forsyth st Atlanta, GA 30303, which is within 2 block distance to the College of Education Building.

A Workshop Banquet will be held at 7:30pm-9:30pm on May 5 at the Sun Dial Restaurant (Westin Peachtree Plaza): 210 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.

Airport: The Airport is served by MARTA and there is a MARTA station in the south terminal. The stop for the hotel is the Peachtree Center Station and the taxi takes about half an hour.
